Kaimana (June 16) — The Kaimana Regency Government, along with the Kaimana Statistics Agency (BPS), officially launched the 2026 Economic Census on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the Grand Papua Hotel in Kaimana. The event, which included a public outreach program for the 2026 Economic Census, was officially opened by the Kaimana Regent and marked the start of field data collection by trained census officers throughout Kaimana Regency.
As part of this series of activities, the initial data collection was aimed at several key officials in Kaimana to set an example for the wider community. The first official visited was the Chairman of the Kaimana Regional People's Representative Council (DPRK), Robi Daud Samangun. The visit was followed by the Deputy Regent of Kaimana, Isak Waryensi, S.Tr., at the state housing complex.
Meanwhile, data collection for the Kaimana Regent, Drs. Hasan Achmad, M.Si., was conducted on June 16, 2026, in the VIP room at Utarom Airport in Kaimana, shortly before he departed for a business trip.
The participation of regional leaders in the initial stages of the 2026 Economic Census is expected to increase active participation by all residents and businesses in Kaimana Regency. The government urges the public to welcome census officials and provide accurate data to ensure more targeted economic planning in Kaimana.
