Kaimana (June 15) — The Kaimana Regency Government, along with the Kaimana Statistics Agency (BPS), officially launched the 2026 Economic Census on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the Grand Papua Hotel in Kaimana. The event, which included a public outreach program for the 2026 Economic Census, was officially opened by the Regent of Kaimana, Drs. Hasan Achmad, M.Si., and marked the start of door-to-door field data collection by census officers throughout Kaimana Regency.
The event was attended by the Deputy Regent of Kaimana, members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri), heads of Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD), representatives from banks, business owners, members of the press, and all field officers for the 2026 Economic Census in Kaimana Regency. The presence of these diverse parties demonstrated the synergy in ensuring the success of the ten-yearly economic census.
In his remarks, the Kaimana Regent invited all heads of regional government agencies (OPD) to fully support the process by disseminating information related to the 2026 Economic Census to the public and businesses under their respective jurisdictions. Furthermore, the Regent urged banking leaders and businesses to actively participate by providing honest, accurate, and factual data. He emphasized that the collected data will be used solely for statistical purposes and is not related to taxation.
Through the 2026 Economic Census, the government will obtain comprehensive data on business conditions and developments in Indonesia, including in Kaimana Regency. This data will serve as the basis for development planning and the formulation of more targeted economic policies. In line with the launch, door-to-door field officers for the 2026 Economic Census officially began data collection on June 15, 2026, in Kaimana Regency.
